The Ebert Berlin Foundation Talked about the Features of Digitalization in China, the USA and Germany

Director of the Center for Political Analysis and Information Security Svyatoslav Andrianov took part in a panel discussion on the topic Ways of Digitalization in China, the USA and Germany which took place in Berlin on 7 May 2019 at the headquarters of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.
The discussion was attended by:
- Dr. Maximilian Mayer, Assistant Professor, University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China;
- Paul Nemitz, Principal Advisor in the Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers of the European Commission;
- Dr. Jens Zimmermann, Member of the German Bundestag, Chairman of the SPD-Group in the Committee on the Digital Agenda.
- Sabine Frank, Head of Regulation, Consumer and Youth Protection, at Google Germany.
The participants spoke about the national peculiarities in the legislation and the regulation of various aspects of digitalization, such as the protection of personal data, anti-money laundering, fiscal policy in Internet commerce.
In addition, social changes as a result of digitalization and its impact on further transformation of the society were discussed.
The panelists did not ignore such fundamental problems as a freedom of speech in the age of digital democracy and cybercrimes. The possibilities of international cooperation both in the commercial and public sectors of the digital economy were also discussed.
