Strategic dialogue Russia-Germany
The Track II diplomacy direction of our Center is represented by the project of the Russian-European expert strategic dialogue “Russia-Germany”, which became the reaction of the Russian and European expert communities to the escalation of the geopolitical confrontation between Russia and the West.
The main goal of the project is to form a highly professional group of experts on a wide range of international and regional problems, capable of prompt and confidential discussion of the most sensitive issues in relations between Russia (and the post-Soviet space) and Germany (including the EU context), exchange of reliable information that can become a natural barrier within the increased information activity of both countries.
With the rapid growth of isolation of the political classes of the European Union, the United States and Russia, the curtailment of diplomatic contacts between countries, the growth of information confrontation, the elimination and "freezing" of research and cultural joint projects, a radical reduction in humanitarian ties, the value of any professional contacts between two parts of Europe increases many times.
Under these conditions, the expert community, devoid of political ambitions, with a high level of awareness and relevant expert competencies that stimulate productive exchange of information and the achievement of certain compromises and a common understanding of the essence of the processes taking place in Europe, is the only "platform" suitable for the formation of an independent and not subject to state structures communication systems between the West and Russia.
The expert nature of the network that is being built is a natural filter against annoying and meaningless propaganda, as well as unverified and unreliable information, which initially provides special attention to the results of the expert dialogue of both political classes and the leadership of countries, as well as military-strategic blocs and alliances.
Considering the fact that expert activity by its nature is based on the search for the most effective ways to resolve conflicts, reduce tension and eliminate all kinds of obstacles for a full and open dialogue between East and West; the creation of an expert system for the exchange of information will help to reduce the general tension in the region and will help to form, on the one hand, a system of trust between East and West, and on the other hand, a phased plan for breaking the deadlock in Russian-Western relations.
