Veliky Novgorod Government Hosted the Presentation of the International School of Youth Diplomacy MGIMO

On 9 October 2019 a presentation of the regional program of the International School of Youth Diplomacy at MGIMO (University) at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs took place at a citywide meeting of directors of educational institutions at the administration of Veliky Novgorod.
Director of the International School of Youth Diplomacy at MGIMO (University) at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Andrey Emelin and his deputy - Ulyana Teplyakova addressed the participants. Representatives of Veliky Novgorod Government expressed gratitude to MGIMO specialists for their interest in the Novgorod region and hoped that one of the future regional sessions of the School would be held in Veliky Novgorod. Mayor of Veliky Novgorod Sergey Busurin has already supported the project by sending a letter to the organizers.
The Center for Political Analysis and Information Security is the official partner of MGIMO and the Russian Association for United Nations Assistance in implementing the project of the International School of Youth Diplomacy in the Novgorod Region, as well as in the Federal Republic of Germany.

The International School of Youth Diplomacy has been operating since 2008. It offers high school students a career guidance program for admission to the university in the field of international relations, international economics, international journalism and international security. 85% of the graduates of the School enter MGIMO.
The work of the School is divided into several on-site training sessions, usually during school holidays. To obtain a Certificate of the School, signed by the rector of MGIMO, it is necessary to attend 3 sessions:
- Basic (regional), MGIMO professors introduce aspects of international activity and features of the future profession;
- Language session (winter or summer), review lectures and consultations are held on passing the entrance exam at MGIMO;
- On-site session, which takes place in one of the diplomatic capitals, such as Geneva, Brussels, Vienna, New York and Berlin. During the on-site sessions, students attend events organized especially for them at the headquarters of the largest world and regional organizations: UN, WTO, NATO, OSCE, OPEC, IAEA, UNESCO, etc., as well as Embassies, Permanent Missions and Consulates of the Russian Federation.
For more than a ten-year working period, the International School of Youth Diplomacy has organized the regional training phase in more than 20 regions of Russia.
